Admission is open to any child from the age of two and a half provided they are toilet trained.
From the academic year 2023-24, we have waived all fees for registration and enrolment to make our school more affordable for parents.
As at present we only run two classes, (Kindergarten to Lower Primary and Upper Primary to Lower Secondary), placement will depend on the prospective entrant’s ability to read in terms of the English curriculum and show a sound knowledge of the times tables with regard to Numeracy. It is possible greater strength will be shown in one subject than the other, in which case the pupil will be able to change teaching group accordingly in the course of the morning. We make no distinction between abilities in P.E., which is currently taught in a single lesson to the whole school.
We do not offer the methods of monitoring progress that exist within the British Curriculum, such as Standard Assessment Tests, and at the moment must refer this requirement to schools in Siem Reap which have the relevant accreditation.
Where a younger brother or sister joins an existing pupil at the school, a 15% discount of fees will be allowed. With a third child, there will be a 20% deduction, and so on. Concessions will only apply to a single family and cannot be extended to other relatives.
When a child joins the school after the beginning of a month, term or year, a pro-rata discount will be given for the time already elapsed according to how the parents wish to pay.
Where the monthly option is taken, there will be ten instalments in the course of an academic year, covering September to June. (No allowance will be made for periods when the school is closed for a holiday.) Our year ends in late July and the final payment will be adjusted accordingly.
Fees must be paid promptly. We are willing to allow a ‘period of grace’ of up to one week, but thereafter we have no choice but to exclude a child until the account outstanding is settled in full.
We regret that no refund can be made of fees already paid where a child must leave the school at short notice under whatever circumstances.
Teachers keep a daily register, and a grade to show attendance and punctuality will appear on a pupil’s termly report. We ask parents to ensure their children arrive on time and not remove them without good reason while the school is open. Where a grade goes below 75% for either unexcused lateness or absence, a report will not be issued, although the parents will still be welcome to discuss their child’s progress at our meetings on the last day of term.
On registration, we will require an original birth certificate, of which we will keep a copy, two up-to-date passport photographs and, where appropriate, a recent report or record of achievement from the previous school. For identification purposes, we will also need two passport photographs of each adult responsible for collecting the child. One will be affixed to the security card we issue to be carried by the assigned individual and presented at the gate if requested.
